IP1007 INTRODUCTION TO HOTEL AND TOURISM IN MEXICO
Requirements: English native speaker or 550 score on TOEFL or equivalent, and have taken business courses at least for one year.

Students will understand tourist operations as well as the elements in tourism and the classification of services. To comprehend the motivations of traveling, the social and economical impact and its relation with the environment. They will also learn about tourism development in Mexico and Mazatlan though research and visits to sites.

IP1011 MEXICAN CUISINE
Requirements: None.

Equivalency: IP99015 Mexican Cooking
This course has been designed for those students who are studying in the field of the Hospitality Industry. In class and Lab participation will be based on topics such as: History of Mexican cuisine, Cultural values, Mexican ingredients, nutritional value of Mexican cooking, different techniques to cook Mexican meals and beverages, and how to coordinate a Mexican banquet.

IP3023 SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT
Requirements: English native speaker or 550 score on TOEFL or equivalent, and have taken business courses at least for one year.

Equivalency: IP96092 Sustainable Tourism Development
This course presents an examination of topics and concerns relating to a paradigm for the 21 century. Discussion will be based on such topics as: overview of biodiversity and tourist attractions in Mexico, legal issues related to the protection of environment, successful cases of eco tourism, models of entrepreneurial involvement, studies of Mexico’s National Parks and Protected Areas, Ethic Tourism, participation of nongovernmental organizations and financing of Green Tourism.
